
Inferno Half Marathon & Relay Race
The Inferno Half Marathon and the relay race are aimed at experienced mountain runners who are well prepared for the start. This competition requires not only endurance, but also a high level of personal responsibility. Due to the alpine conditions, the weather can be unpredictable on race day and suitable mountain running equipment is strongly recommended.

Relay
A relay consists of 3 runners who cover the following distances (same route as the half marathon):
Lauterbrunnen - Grütschalp | 7.130 km | 690 m ascent
Grütschalp - Höhenlücke | 7.492 km | 415 m ascent
Höhenlücke - Schilthorn | 6.475 km | 1,070 m ascent
The handover in the transition zones takes place with a relay tape, which is handed out at the start number distribution.

The prize money is awarded according to the “overall classification”. Withholding tax will be deducted for foreign participants.
Prizes in kind
The top-ranked athletes in each category will receive attractive prizes in kind (in addition to the prize money for 1st - 6th place listed above). All finishers will receive the INFERNO half marathon finisher T-shirt.
Relay race prizes
The first-placed teams in each category will receive a commemorative prize. All members of the finisher teams will receive the INFERNO T-shirt.
Competition rules for the INFERNO Half Marathon and Relay Race

Due to the alpine terrain, the competition places special demands on the equipment and personal responsibility of the athletes. All participants should read and follow the rules carefully to ensure a safe and fair competition.
Registration/Cancellation
Registration start
Registration starts on November 11 at 11.11 am. We recommend registering directly online - the links can be found directly on the start page at the time stated.
Deregistration
Cancellations for health reasons will be accepted if a medical certificate is presented. The entry fee will be refunded after deduction of a processing fee of CHF 50.
Doping ban
Doping is prohibited. Swiss Olympic Association may carry out doping controls.
Health and safety measures
The doctors and referees appointed by the organizer may remove participants from the race if there is a risk of damage to their health.
Liability | Route changes
The organizer may change the route at any time. The organizer is not obliged to refund the entry fee in the event of changes to the route or cancellation of the event due to force majeure.
Infrastructure
Directions and parking
Parking spaces are available for participants at the church in Lauterbrunnen.
Start and finish area
Start: Camping Jungfrau, Lauterbrunnen
Finish: The Alpine Sports Center Mürren offers showers, changing rooms and massage services for all participants.
Clothing transportation
Half marathon
Clothes bags will be handed out at the start for the clothes needed on the Schilthorn.
The private sports bags will be transported to the Alpine Sports Center Mürren.
Relay race
1st and 2nd relay runners organize their own clothes transport to Grütschalp or Höhenlücke!
For the 3rd relay runner, clothes bags will be handed out at the start for the clothes needed on the Schilthorn.
The private sports bags will be transported to the Alpine Sports Center Mürren.
Regulations
The CIME regulations apply. The use of spiked shoes and (ski) poles is expressly prohibited. Shortcuts will result in immediate disqualification.
Catering
There are several refreshment stations along the route and in the finish area, which provide runners with water, sports drinks and snacks.
